Symposium on Modern Applications of Biotechnology 2012

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Technische Universität Dresden were organizing the German-Chinese symposium “Modern Applications of Biotechnology 2012”.
Germany and the PR China attach great importance to
scientific-technological cooperation. In the field of biotechnology more than 15 bilateral research projects have been successfully completed in the past 10 years.
On behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) launched a scholarship program in 1999 to support young scientists and reaserchers aiming to do research in China.
Dr. Christian Haug, Managing Director of Bicoll was the first German postdoctoral fellow to work in China . He was invited to talk about his experiences on “Founding, Launching and Development of a German-Chinese Biotech joint-venture” on September-20, 2012 in Dresden.

The Federal Ministry of Education and Research - Delegation Journey to China/ "Life Sciences"
Official visit for life science experts to China. Dr. Kai Lamottke attended the delegation's journey to Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai.
The delegation's members had the oppurtunity to attend the kick-off of the "German-Chinese Workshop for Cooperations in Life Sciences" that was part of the "22. Conference of the Joint Comission for Scientific and Technological Cooperation between the People's Republic of China and Germany".
The experts were able to get a close insight into the Chinese life science market and visited several research institutions and life science companies, among them Bicoll's research facilities in Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park in Shanghai.
